General
The fire is designed for use in a 410 (16") or 460mm (18") wide and 560mm (22") high fireplace opening. A minimum distance of 1 metre must be maintained between the front of the fan heater and any surrounding furniture or any other obstructions.
After Sales Service
This appliance is guaranteed for one year from date of purchase. We will repair or exchange free of charge any part (excluding bulb) found to be defective due to manufacturing fault. For after sales service contact the supplier through whom you purchased the appliance.
Important Safety Advice
When using electrical Appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire and injury to persons.
- If the appliance is damaged, check immediately with the supplier before installation and operation.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not use in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower or swimming pool.
- Do not locate the appliance immediately under a fixed socket outlet or connection box.
- Do not cover the heater. Do not place garments on the heater or obstruct the air circulation around the heater with for example, curtains or furniture as this could cause a fire risk.
- Do not use the heater with a timer or any other device (E.G. Thermal Control, Programme Control) that switches on the heaters automatically as a fire risk exists when the heater is accidentally covered or displaced from it's set position.
- Do not leave young children unsupervised in the vicinity of the heater.
- If a fault occurs, unplug the appliance.
- Unplug the appliance, when not required for long periods.
- Keep supply lead clear from the front of the heater.
- The ash pan cover should be removed when using the heater on Alexander models.
Operation Of The Controls
Switch 1 (First Left) - Controls the electricity supply to the heater & flame effect.
Switch 2 - Provides 1 kW heat output.
Switch 3 - Provides 2 kW heat output with Switch 2.
Maintenance
Warning - Disconnect appliance from the mains supply before undertaking maintenance.
Bulb Replacement
There is one bulb located beneath the coal effect. To gain access the coals and the orange cover must be removed. Remove the faulty bulb and replace it with a 40W or 60W Fireglow bulb. Replace orange cover onto the brackets provided. Spread coals evenly as required. Note: Always wear gloves when handling fibreglass cover!
Safety Cutout
An automatic safety-cutout switches off the heater if for any reason it overheats. This could occur if the air inlet or outlet were restricted in any way or the ash pan cover is still in front of the heater while operating. The cutout will continue to operate until the restriction has been removed and after a short cooling down period normal operation will resume. Should the cutout continue to operate repeatedly for no visible reason, switch off the appliance and seek service advice.
Cleaning
- Before cleaning, unplug appliance and allow it to cool.
- The Surface of the fire can be cleaned using a soft damp cloth.
- To clean the fuel effect, remove coals and wash them in warm water and leave them to dry.
- When parts are dry replace orange cover and arrange them as required for best effect.
- The air inlet grills on the back of the heater should be cleaned annually.
